The Canned Food and Non-Perishable Goods Drive at the Elementary School begins Wednesday (Nov. 4). The annual event is organized by the building’s Student Council. All collected items will be donated to the Hospitality Kitchen at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Hill Avenue.

The collection runs two weeks, ending Wednesday, Nov. 18. Instead of a schoolwide target, each grade level has goals to meet:

  • Collect more than 100 cans: Students in that grade earn a pajama day.
  • Collect more than 200 cans: Students in that grade earn a pajama and movie day.
  • Collect more than 300 cans: Students in that grade earn a pajama, movie, and pizza day!

Families are asked to encourage their child(ren) to donate canned goods and non-perishable items to this important cause. Items are to be dropped off in the empty boxes at the grade-level stations.

If any remote students would like to donate, there will be a separate box by the front office. Please label these non-perishable items with the grade level so Student Council members can move these items to the correct grade-level station.

The Hospitality Kitchen has been helping to make a difference in the lives of those people in northwest Ohio by serving a free nutritious meal to those in need for more than 30 years on Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
