At a special meeting Wednesday (Feb. 10), the Board of Education created a new superintendent committee on which its members serve in advising Dr. Adam Fineske. The new committee is titled Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It joins these existing superintendent committees: Finance and Audit, Personnel, Curriculum, Buildings & Grounds, Policy/Legislation, and Community Relations.
“This new committee will bring added focus and energy to these very important issues facing school districts everywhere,” said Dr. Fineske.
The committees are one way the board members provide input to the superintendent and help govern the district. Another is through membership on state and local groups, including the Ohio School Boards Association, Ottawa Hills Schools Parent Association, OH Boosters, Ottawa Hills Music & Theatre Association, the International Student Exchange Association, the Ottawa Hills Foundation, the Joint Recreation Board, OH21, and the Ottawa Hills Schools Foundation.
