The Ottawa Hills Local School District Summer Learning Program will be available June 9. Use the link below to access the Google doc. Then select your student's grade for the fall 2025-2026 school year to see the appropriate suggested summer learning.

Teachers honored with STEM award
Great news to share from the desk of Principal McMurray: Ottawa Hills Jr/Sr High School received the Governor’s Thomas Edison Award for Excellence in STEM Education and Student Research. The Ohio Academy of Science selected 40 Ohio schools and 436 teachers to receive the special honor for their accomplishments during the 2023-2024 school year.
Congratulations to the following Ottawa Hills STEM teachers receiving the award: Caitlin Shawaker, Dan Feuerstein, Diane Drabek, Gerry Davis, Gloria Kreischer-Gajewicz, Janelle Fowler, Jeremy Nixon, Joan Keckler, Kristin Johnson, Liz Puskala, Michael Leeds, Nicole Silvers, Patty Dowd, Tim Adkins, and Tony Torio. Our school will receive a special Governor’s Award certificate, and each STEM teacher will receive a complimentary membership to The Ohio Academy of Science.
Cognia School of Distinction
We’re proud to announce that Ottawa Hills Jr./Sr. High School has earned the Cognia School of Distinction for excellence in education, as well as accreditation. We’ve been recognized for our steadfast commitment to providing a high-quality education for every one of our students and our promise to continue improving for them.
The Cognia accreditation process involves rigorous evaluations using the latest research and understanding of learning, teaching, and leading. As a School of Distinction, we join the other 49 schools receiving this honor across 16 states and 7 countries that represent benchmark institutions in quality education.
