This 2020-2021 Safe Fall Start-Up Plan was created over the past two months by the district's Coronavirus Response Team. Its 22 members represented teachers and staff, many of whom are also OH parents. It has been reviewed and approved by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and borrows guidelines from a regionwide consortium of northwest Ohio school districts.
Its purpose is to help keep everyone safe and our schools open starting Aug. 17. It has four categories: Prevention; Academic & Social-Emotional Supports; Social Distancing; and Hygiene and Cleaning Protocols. Each is divided by building and while there are similarities between each, the plan is organized in this format so you can view a side-by-side comparison. The document also includes a Frequently Asked Questions section.
On behalf of my fellow committee members, please review the document thoroughly; it is very comprehensive in scope.
Despite the team's hard work and collaboration, the plan remains at the mercy of COVID-19 and its impact on our community. That's why we will constantly monitor it and communicate regularly with you throughout the school year.
