Around These Hills is a quarterly magazine celebrating the students, faculty, and alumni of Ottawa Hills Local Schools, and the donors making possible many of their achievements. It is published four times a year by the district’s Office of Communications in partnership with the Ottawa Hills Schools Foundation. It is mailed to all homes and businesses in the Village, alumni, and donors to the Ottawa Hills Schools Foundation.
Current issue: Spring 2021
Real-world lessons: The district’s three current student teachers talk about selecting heir careers, lessons learned so far from the classroom, and COVID-19.
Inspiring creativity: The district is fortunate to have three talented and passionate art teachers. We spoke to them about today’s art education, future trends, and being the ‘A’ in the STEAM curriculum at the Junior/Senior High School.
Initiatives transform our district: From a review of the curriculum to changes in how the Board of Education governs, Ottawa Hills Local Schools has started several initiatives on the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion. “Whether you are a student, teacher, or school system, it’s important to always seek new ways of improving,” said Superintendent Dr. Adam Fineske. “These initiatives represent a district and community effort to do just that.”
