From the Desk of Mr. McMurray:
Thanks to everyone for making the transition back to school successful during Remote Learning 2.0. We have enjoyed seeing small groups of students in the building for various orientation programs, Picture Day, meetings for clubs and activities, and science labs. Students have done a wonderful job following our COVID-19 protocols.
We expect the return to full time live instruction to go smoothly. We will utilize parts of the school days September 8 and 9 to review and practice our protocols. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenging times. We hope you find the monthly "5 Things" electronic reminder helpful. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Ben McMurray, Principal
1. In-Person Learning Begins Sept. 8
On Sept. 8 and 9, only half the students will be in the building at one time so that students and staff can conduct the proper training required to ensure the safe return of students to the building.
- Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020 A-K In-Person: Students with last names beginning with A-K attend in person classes or sign in to Google Meet broadcasts. Students with last names beginning with L-Z complete video orientation and back-to-school training. Link will be shared via student email on September 8.
- Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020 L-Z In-Person: Students with last names beginning with L-Z attend in person classes or sign in to Google Meet broadcasts. Students with last names beginning with A-K complete video orientation and back-to-school training. Link will be shared via student email on September 8.
- Thursday, Sept. 10: A normal schedule for the junior/senior high school. All students follow the same schedule whether they are attending classes at school or at-home. September 10th is a "D" day. We will do our best to avoid altering the rotating schedule that exists on the Google Calendar. Junior High student drop off should take place at the Kenwood doors. Please note that the junior/senior high school building opens at 7:50am unless students are reporting to early bird labs, the language lab, or the library. Students should arrive between 7:50-8:05 a.m. and report directly to their first hour class. We ask that students refrain from congregating in the hallways. Masks will be required and temperatures will be taken by classroom teachers.
2. PowerSchool & e~Funds
Many parents have paid their child's fees using the online payment system e~Funds, but PowerSchool accounts are not showing payment. We apologize for this error. E~funds is experiencing technical issues communicating with PowerSchool's newly updated system. Please hold onto your receipts, ignore alerts to pay additional fees, and wait a a few weeks. Everything should be resolved soon. Thank you for your patience.
3. Picture Retakes
Ottawa Hills Jr./Sr. High School picture retakes will take place Wednesday, Sept. 30. You can prepay for these pictures using the code EVTQ7GF43 at the Lifetouch website. Just click the button below.
4. Open House
The originally scheduled Open House event is currently being moved to a later date and format. We will keep you posted with details.
