The Ottawa Hills Board of Education is now taking applications for an open seat starting in January. The vacancy was created by the resignation of board member Lisa Brown, which is effective Dec. 31, 2020. Mrs. Brown announced her resignation at the conclusion of Tuesday's board meeting (Nov. 17).
Interested candidates can download the application and find out more about serving on a public school board from the Ohio School Boards Association.
To be eligible, a candidate must be a resident of Ottawa Hills, a registered voter, and submit a completed application. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Dec. 30. It can be submitted in person at the Superintendent's Office (7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) or via email. In January, the remaining four board members will review applications, interview finalists, and fill the position.
The person will serve one year with the appointment expiring on Dec. 31, 2021.
