International Student Exchange Association

The International Student Exchange Association is an organization that supports international student activities. It helps to pay for Ottawa Hills students to participate in exchange student-related activities.

For example, it pays the costs for high school students participating in outside activities during Diversity Weekend (such as visiting the University of Toledo Recreation Center and at the Mardi Gras Dance). It also pays for the year-end luncheon honoring exchange students, host families, and high school students traveling abroad. The International Student Exchange Association thanks the administrative and teaching staff for their support.

New members of this organization are always welcome. For more information or to get involved in the International Student Exchange Association, please contact Linda Sherry.

The Ottawa Hills International Diversity Club (OHIDC) is a school-sponsored club organized and run by the OHHS teacher liaison. The club meets at the high school to plan internationally-inspired activities such as International Dinners and exploring cultures around the world. If you are a student and would like to join OHIDC, please contact advisor Caitlin Shawaker.

The goals of the Ottawa Hills AFS/Diversity International Club are:

  1. Encourage OHHS students to participate in AFS-sponsored International Student Exchange Programs.
  2. Support visiting AFS International students.
  3. promote cross-cultural understanding.
  4. Gain a greater understanding of the diverse cultures represented within Ottawa Hills and surrounding communities.
