The Environmental (ECLIPSE) Club spent Saturday morning (Sept. 21) joining millions around the world in cleaning local waterways.  Advisor and science teacher Paul Genzman worked with Partners for Clean Streams and consulted with Village manager Marc Thompson to identify an area of need on the Ottawa River within the boundaries of Ottawa Hills.

“I really liked coming together with my classmates to help clean the Ottawa River,” said Skylar Silk, eighth grader. “It was surprising how much trash we collected in just one hour. I am glad Mr. Genzman organized this event.”

“Members of the Eclipse Club and several eighth grade Citizen Scientists removed more than eight large garbage bags of litter,” said Mr. Genzman.
