8th Grade Graduation InvitationA message sent May 27 from Junior/Senior High Principal Ben McMurray:

Dear Eighth Graders,

Congratulations! Although we can’t celebrate you in person, I want you to know that I am incredibly proud of your academic achievements, athletic pursuits, and creative endeavors. I have been equally impressed by your kindness, especially during this most unusual year.

As you embark on the next part of your journey, I encourage you to continue to strengthen the ties you have to the adults who are committed to seeing you succeed: your parents, your grandparents, your teachers, your coaches, and your mentors. Continue to seek guidance, follow their advice, and remember to report back and thank them. They have played and will continue to play an active role in your education.

Use your time this summer to self-assess, set new goals, and think carefully about the new set of choices that lie ahead. High school offers new possibilities and challenges. You will begin to enhance your educational perspective through a new, more expansive mindset as you venture on to experience different classes, extra-curricular activities, teachers, and friends. Challenge yourselves; and when an obstacle cannot be turned into an opportunity, don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Finally, stand together. In a few short years, you will be with your classmates again, crossing another major milestone in your academic career as you graduate as a class in 2024. I want to ask that you look out for one another throughout high school–not just during the big moments, but every day. Support each other. Reach out. Include others. Be a team.

We are here to support you through every step of the way.  On behalf of our entire faculty and staff, I wish you all the best!  Congratulations!

Stay healthy and safe.

Mr. McMurray
