Mr. Kaden’s address is titled “Business as a Noble Profession: Northwest Ohio Community Change – Improving Our Region Requires Us to Improve the Condition of Our Youth.”

Mr. Kadens (’96) and wife Amy (’99) were the visionaries behind the successful $1.5 million Kadens Family Health & Wellness Capital Campaign. On behalf of Ottawa Hills Local Schools, the campaign produced The Kadens Family Fitness Center as well as other health-related improvements to district facilities.

He currently serves as chairman of The Kadens Family Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to closing the pervasive wealth and education gaps in the United States. He retired in August 2018 as chief executive officer of Green Thumb Industries, one of the largest publicly traded, legal cannabis operators in the United States. More recently, he launched Crazy Clean, a data-driven disinfecting company to help organizations keep employees and customers safe and healthy.

His philanthropic activities include a City of Toledo initiative calling for access to preschool and tuition-free college for Toledo Public Schools students. That organization is called Helping Our Population Educate (HOPE). This fall, Lourdes welcomed eight HOPE scholars to its campus this fall.

The speech is part of the 8th Annual Joseph M. Magliochette Leadership Summit, which is being conducted virtually this year. The public is invited; summit admission, which includes Mr. Kaden's speech, is $50 and includes a GrubHub electronic gift card to order lunch that day or in the future (no expiration).
