2022 - Hoops for a Cause helps Project Rafiki
Project Rafiki enjoyed the spotlight Tuesday (Feb. 1) during the "Hoops for a Cause" fundraiser organized by the girls' basketball program.
The girls and their supporters sold donuts during the week and at the game as well as Kenyan beaded bracelets. The students raised $1,000 on Tuesday alone, and some appeared on camera during news coverage provided by WTOL. OH students created Project Rafiki to help students in a Kenyan village get new classrooms and uniforms. The goal is to raise $40,000. Well done, ladies!

The girls will be selling bracelets and donuts at Monday's home basketball games as well as Monday and Tuesday during the Junior/Senior High School lunch hour. The outreach extends to the Elementary School next week. Fliers will go home asking students to "Show their Love" and adopt a student for $20. In return during Valentine Week, those who do will receive a sweet treat and a beaded bracelet to show their support.
