2022 - Choraliers receive superior score at OMEA event

Congratulations to the Choraliers for receiving an overall Superior rating -- the highest possible -- at the Ohio Music Education Association State (OMEA) competition this weekend.

You can hear the Choraliers yourself on Tuesday (May 3) when they join the BGSU Collegiate Chorale in a choral concert at Sylvania First United Methodist Church. The Choraliers will sing three opening pieces on their own and then join the Collegiate Chorale later on stage for a closing song. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The church is at 7000 Erie St., Sylvania.

At the OMEA event, the Choraliers performed three pieces: Vivaldi’s "Dixit Dominus," Von Kampen’s "I Am Possibility," and Kallmann’s arrangement of "Peze Kafe." The judges evaluated students' tone, intonation, interpretation, and technique.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our program," said Joshua Dufford, the district's vocal music director. "We’ve worked hard throughout the year and it's nice to see our efforts validated.”
