The OH Model UN Club participated in the Canadian-American Security Council Conference at the Radisson Conference Center in Lansing (MI) this past weekend (Dec. 2-4). Twelve OH students joined more than 200 other Midwestern and Canadian high school students representing countries in the present-day United Nations Security Council, European Union, Arab League, Association of South East Asian States, and the Organization of American States.

Attendees were seniors Stella Cooper, Elise Denk, Dylan Fall, Adam Hamilton, Henry Harders, Blaise Malczewski, Molly McCracken, Faith Seo, and Gabe Smith, and Juniors Lyndsay Breitner, Barrett Downing, and Nikki Malekpour. These Club members received many compliments from committee chairs on their debate and diplomacy skills. Barrett received Second Honors representing the Czech Republic in the European Union.

Tom McCarthy, social studies teacher and club advisor, organized the trip and accompanied the students. Special thanks to the Ottawa Hills Schools Parent Association for their continuing support.
