ACT-logoDo you have a child taking the ACT exam soon? The next national test date is Feb. 8. All Ottawa Hills juniors will take the ACT exam at the Junior/Senior High School Wednesday, Feb. 26. The Office of Village Life has an ACT Prep Course that helps students prepare for the exam.

Students will learn ways to manage the test and learn tips to help them achieve higher scores. The five-day course is for both students taking the test for the first time as well as those who have already taken it but want to improve their scores. Students will get intense English and math instruction as well as science and reading strategies in this class.

The prep course is taught by Greg Owens, a graduate of Yale University. Mr. Owens has been successfully preparing students for the ACT since 2000. After taking and reviewing dozens of ACT tests, he has recognized patterns in the test that allow students to pick up easy points. He not only teaches these patterns and other standard test-taking strategies, but also focuses on developing the underlying skills the ACT aims to measure.
