Student body participating in the "grey-out"

Emma CarpenterSeniors John Kight and Drew Hoffman guided the boys’ basketball program in raising more than $2,600 this year through T-shirt sales, direct donations, and 50-50 raffles. The money is being donated to the American Brain Tumor Association. Since the team started its fundraising efforts to support research and raise awareness, more than $10,000 has been raised.

The student body and many other game attendees supported the effort by dressing in grey as part of a “grey-out” (grey is the color for brain cancer.)

Emma Carpenter (pictured, left) – Drew’s cousin, a brain cancer survivor, and the inspiration for the fundraising program – attended Friday’s game (Jan. 17) against Toledo Christian. Thanks to everyone who supported the team’s efforts. For more information about the event, click here.

Thanks to vocal music director Donna Wipfli and the Choraliers for kicking off the evening by singing the “National Anthem.”
