OH21 hosts 'Operation Street Smart' session

Posted On: Saturday, February 1, 2020

Do you know what to look for if you suspect your son or daughter is using drugs or alcohol? Operation Street Smart is a drug-awareness program that helps parents identify those behaviors and prevent life-threatening addiction. It was started in 2002 by the Franklin County (Ohio) Sheriff's Office, and is now presented around the state, often in cooperation with local school districts.

Parent-support group OH21 is hosting an Operation Street Smart session Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. It takes place in the Junior/Senior High School library. Students are invited to attend, too. Two retired police officers will share information on current narcotic trends, terminology, and paraphernalia, as well as discuss the physiological effects of drugs and addition.

Contact Brooke Kleeberger, the district's student program assistance coordinator, for further information.
